Cycle Connect Bhaktapur is once again bringing an exciting cycling initiative to mark Nepali New Year 2083 – the 21 Days Cycling Challenge ! This challenge is designed to motivate individuals to embrace cycling, adopt healthier habits, and connect with their communities while celebrating the rich heritage of Nepal on a global scale.

It’s widely believed that 21 days helps build a habit—and that’s exactly what we’re here to do. Many people start the New Year with a strong intention to improve their lifestyle. This challenge supports that energy through one of the simplest, most effective habits: cycling.

How to participate?

Eligibility

You can join if you:

    • Know how to cycle
    • Live in Bhaktapur District (Bhaktapur Municipality, Suryabinayak, Madhyapur Thimi, Changunarayan)
    • Have access to Strava
    • Can post publicly on Facebook/Instagram/TikTok

Note: The challenge is currently limited to Bhaktapur for management and verification boundaries.

How to Participate (Step-by-step)

Step 1: Register

    • Fill the official registration form
    • Pay Rs. 500 (non-refundable)

Step 2: Follow & Join

    • Follow Cycle Connect Bhaktapur on Facebook/Instagram/TikTok
    • Join the Cycle Connect Bhaktapur Strava Club
    • Like sponsor pages (as applicable for the year)

Step 3: Ride Daily

    • Ride at least 2 km each day (no upper limit!)

Step 4: Log + Post

To be counted as a valid day:

    1. Record your ride on Strava and share it to the CCB Strava club
    2. Post your ride proof publicly:
      • Strava activity screenshot/link +
      • At least 3 cycling selfies/photos for that day
    3. Tag @cycleconnect.bhaktapur and use the hashtags provided (#

Points & ranking (Gamification Section)

Daily Points

  • Valid daily completion: +100 points
  • Highest daily distance: +50 points
  • Highest daily elevation gain: +50 points*
  • Miss a day: −100 points

End-of-Challenge Bonus

  • Most consistent rider (least variance + higher mean distance): +500 points
  • Boost challenge completion: +100 points (or as announced)

How Rankings Work

All points are summed daily and the leaderboard is updated after verification. Top-ranked participants at the end win prizes.

 

Boost Up Challenges (Engagement Section)

Boost Challenges = Bonus Points + More Fun

Boost challenges can happen midweek or weekend. They are optional, but they’re designed to keep the challenge exciting and community-driven.

  • Theme Ride (Traditional/Retro/Single Color Outfit)
  •  1-minute video: “What I love about cycling”
  •  Location Hunt (ride to announced destinations)
  • Organize a Ride (team leaders can earn extra points per rider and encourage women participation)

 

 

 

Prizes (Motivation Section)

Win Exciting Rewards

This challenge includes prizes for top-ranked participants and also rewards for finishers.

Grand Prize :

  • A Bicycle — or some Cycling Equipment

More Prizes Additional prizes will be revealed during the challenge (finishers + category rewards)
